In the studio... ...Wales (Bridgend)

The studio was run in Bridgend for over 10 years, where works would be made in the dining room of International Welsh Artists Bridget Evans home. This exclusive blog looks at the make-shift studio and the artists inspiration to create.

The studio was situated off M4, Bridgend just before artist reallocated to England in 2019.

Bridget lived in the make shift studio that was originally the family home. The dining room become the area to express on her wooden table and store art work as the children of Bridget had grown up and there was plenty of time to express and create.

In the picture provided is some of Bridgets artwork that were displayed in a series of galleries and exhibitions throughout Wales. Here Bridget would spend hours journalling researching and creating the next piece of work and the store it on the back wall before arranging galleries and exhibitions for the work.

I would work 24/7 a day creating and at times placed the work up on social media as well as youtube a video briefly some of the works. However, the most of work would be shown in a number of galleries and arranged exhibitions with fellow friends whom were artists too.

The work displayed often would be abstract portraitures that would intrigue people into looking at the story behind the pictures and the reasoning of choosing a portraiture over scenery. The people that Bridget were often people in her life and people that had significantly influenced her life whether that would be good or bad.

FInally, bridgets use of acrylics and large scaled canvases were an amazing epiphany that she would create. The work would be dedicated to and created within that day and not worked on, critics called the work flat but yet intriguing.

International welsh artist Bridget Evans, Now lives in Hampshire, Surrey borders with a new base that she uses a shed and still the dining room occassionally. Bridget now is focussing on installational work and is drawn to a few exhibitions and showcasing works in London.
