Lightbox in Woking has many amazing artworks. The artworks are varied throughout the year. Recently International Welsh Artist Bridget Evans volunteers and helps out with manning the gallery.
The drawings are part of my own personal study of the exhibits within this space whilst manning and looking after the gallery. With currently studying Sophie Ryders work, my favourite part of her exhibition is the eye on the wall.
The drawing of the subject of the eye is just one of few that Bridget has drawn. The whole attraction of the exhibit by Sophie Ryder was not about her topic rather than the materials and application she had applied to her art.
However, during Bridgets volunteering role, she grasped onto study and drawing. And this is a drawing of the eye that was a clear favourite of the artists. With this Bridget thought the eye was a photocopy or large photo placed on the wall, when in fact its a sculpture made of thin black wire.
The sculptures is something Bridget has not really explored. And perhaps in the future will look at as part of a installation or a singular object. The whole inspiration needs research and time if Bridget is to create and work towards a sculpture.
